Regarding the berries, we have bought apple, strawberry, bananna, and others from emergency essentials when they go on sale.

we ususally buy 3-6 at a time.

If you wait for the sale, you can get it cheaper than that.

The last batch of strawberries (ordered a case) was 16 bucks a can.

I see they're using tvp. I prefer real meat like what Mt. House uses.

Your prolly right but it's what I carried on every backpacking trip. I never had a problem with it. Making an abrupt change from regular food to two week of nothing but freezdried was never a problem for me. The Rice & Chicken, Beef Stroganoff and pork chops are excellent.

To be honest those freeze dried fruits and veggies are looking very very nice,

A little pricey sure,

But all the work is done for me.

These go on sale sometimes do they?

I don't know what it is in the mountain house foods, but I feel terrible after I eat it.

MSG maybe...

Doesn't bother me (i like it)
But it messes with my wife, so I try to steer clear of it (thanks T.A.)
